I promised a post after we won the national championship, so here it is. I am so proud of the way this team has come together through adversity. If you were to ask anyone besides the ones within this team if they saw us making a deep run in the tournament, their answer would probably have been “no”. Words cannot express how thankful I am for how my coaches and teammates push me off the court. The game of basketball is simply a tool to express the gifts that God has given to all of us.
The beauty of a team is that we all have different gifts that work together for a greater purpose, and that’s Biblical as well. In Romans 12, it says, “For just as each of us has one body with many members, and these members do not all have the same function, so in Christ we, though many, form one body and each member belongs to all the other.” That is an incredible representation of how our team has many different gifts and we all have come together to use our gifts to glorify the Lord.
This has been one of the best rides of my life. This team was so special and this year will go down as one of my favorite memories because of the way we came together for a greater purpose other than ourselves. These guys are great and I thank God everyday for their impact on my life. – Bob Peters
